Addie expressed her belief in God through Jesus empowered by God the Holy Spirit at an early age at the Uchee Hill Baptist Church in Seale, Al.  Later in life, she joined Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church.  She became a member of Order of Eastern Star chapter 235 in Columbus, Ga.

Education was provided by the school district of Columbus, Ga.  Work employment was in the health care field for Deerfield Nursing Home and Statewide, Inc. until retirement.

Addie was a hard-working and studious servant of God's Kingdom at Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church.  She served in the following ministries:  Love-in- Action (preparing breakfast and dinner for the homeless people in the community); Hospitality; Music Ministry (singing in both the Women and Mass choirs.); Christian Education—Women's Adult Church School Class (she served as the Outreach caller, checking in on sick and shut-in class members, always submitting a report back to the class to ensure additional support could be provided from other members of the class if needed so that need could be addressed); and  a Monday morning Spiritual Brunch Bible student.

Community service was provided to many of her neighbors at the "Cottage".

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Freeman Grier, Jr. and her brother Arthur Lee Chambers.

Addie is survived by three sons,  Otis Lamar Harris (Cindy), Howard Duffie, and James Kelley; three granddaughters,  Gabrielle, Samantha, and Alexandria Harris;  several God-Sisters and God-Families; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
