Ms. Alvestia Jackson McBride graced this life with her presence on April 22, 1942 in Hatchechubbee, Alabama to the late Will and Flora Jackson.   She departed this life on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia.

After completing her primary education, Alvestia received her Bachelor's in Education degree from Albany State University and her Master's in Education degree from Georgia State University.

Alvestia retired from Muscogee County School District where she taught third grade at Forrest Road Elementary School in Columbus, Georgia.  As an educator Ms. McBride impacted the life of many students and was their "favorite teacher."

Alvestia leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Efrem McBride and Marcus McBride, both of Columbus, Georgia; two granddaughters, Tionna Cooper and Brionna Cooper; siblings, Barbara Jackson, Irkcous Jackson and William Jackson; one aunt Margaret Toney; and a host of other relatives and loved ones.
