Funeral Services will be held 12:00 noon EDT Monday, November 17, 2025 at Gaines Chapel AME Church. Visitation will be Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Barbara J. Walker Miles, age 84, of Phenix City, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on November 10, 2025.

She was Born on September 13, 1941 in Russell County, AL to the late Arthur and Ethel McCoy Walker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Miles; siblings, Earnestine Jackson, Shirley A. Neal and Homer L. Walker.

She was a devoted and lifelong member of Gaines Chapel AME Church, where she joyfully participated in worship and Bible study and served on the usher board and missionary ministries.

Barbara is survived by her four daughters, Sherry Pinkard (Ron), Sophia Julkes, Angela Smith (Eddie) and Pam Coates (Gary Sr./deceased); a sister, Patricia Fisher of Calumet City, IL; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren. In addition, she leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Barbara coined a phrase that will forever  live on in the hearts of all who knew her…
