Funeral Services will be held 12:00 noon Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday, February 23, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Ms. Barbara "BJ" Jean Williams of Columbus, GA was born to the late Lonnie C. Hinton and Annie Mae Hinton on August 13, 1942 in Phenix City, AL.      Barbara passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandparents, Susie Johnson and Levi Johnson and her grandson, Jeramie Davis.

Barbara was educated in Russell County School System, graduating from South Girard High School.  She played basketball while in school.

Barbara accepted Christ at an early age, and joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Phenix City, where Rev. Samuel Harvey was the Pastor.  Barbara worked at Fort Benning, GA as a Civil Service employee where she retired after 38 years in 2005.  She worked at the Big Eddy Club, NCO Club and at several Dining Facilities from line cook to head cook.  Her last employment was at Phenix Regional Rehabilitation Center in Phenix City as a cook.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory  her children, Jeffery (Yolanda)  Williams, of Seale, AL, Rhonda (Darryl) Brooks, of Phenix City, AL, Sonya Williams and Kelvin Williams both of Columbus, GA; her only brother Lonnie (Catherine) Hinton of Jonesboro, GA; twenty-nine grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and three loyal devoted friends.
