Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm EDT Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Mt. Mariah Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Edmond Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, November 14, 2025 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Carlos Deyoung Faniel was born December 29, 1974 in Tuskegee, Alabama. He attended Central High School, Class of 1995. Carlos joined his Heavenly Father November 3, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beautiful mother, Carolyn D. Faniel; grandmother, Carrie B. Thomas; uncles, Elmore Parhams and Raphael Parhams.
He worked at The Phenix City Board of Education in the Transportation Dept. Carlos was a member of Mt. Mariah Baptist Church. He joined at a very young age. He adored his children, sister, family and friends. He always brought laughter to his surroundings.
Carlos was known for being the prodigal son. He had an outstanding personality and he never met a stranger.
Carlos leaves his cherished memories to his devoted children, daughters; Kiara Faniel (Columbus) and Kabrisha Faniel (Columbus); his son, Shaquille Nickerson (Phenix City); his beloved grandson, King Faniel (Columbus); his father, Leon Alexander (Ladonia); stepfather, Ceroy Williams (Phenix City); his loving sister, Rita Faniel (Phenix City); nephew, Radarius Faniel (Jasmine); nieces, LaShunte Faniel and Skylar Faniel; great nieces and nephews, Orin, Raland and Riley; his four aunts, Renee Nick, Albertha Miller (Barry), Cassandra Olukoju (Terry), Adriane Par-hams; an uncle, Alfred Parhams (Angela) and host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins whom he loved dearly and friends.
One thing about Carlos, I think we can all agree, Carlos lived his life to the fullest and he loved his Alabama Crimson, ROLL TIDE!
