Obituary

Mr. Charles Kevin Welch, Sr. entered this life on June 3, 1965, and was the second son to the late Mrs. Rosalind Welch and Mr. James Welch. He was called home to his eternal resting place on Friday, August 27, 2021 after a lengthy illness.

Charles Kevin was born in Dayton, Ohio and was a graduate of the Meadowdale High School class of 1984. He was affectionately referred to by friends and family as Kevin or Chas.

Charles joined the United States Armed Forces after graduation from Meadowdale . He became a Veteran of the Afghanistan war until his retirement in 2011. He had risen to the rank of Sergeant First Class. It was after his retirement that he made Columbus, Georgia his home.

In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by two brothers: Carl Kenneth Welch and James Kernard Welch.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory one Brother: Christopher Keith (Estelle) Welch of Dayton, OH; three Sons: Charles Kevin Welch, Jr. of Wichita, KS; Da'Von Robinson of Vidalia, GA; and Jaylyn Welch of Phenix City, AL. Granddaughter: Da'Niyah Robinson. Aunts: Eva Mae Caulton of Phenix City, AL, Sara Smith of Columbus, GA and Diane Robinson of Dayton, OH; Uncle, Patrick (Teresa) Turner of Goldsboro, NC; Cousins: Lori Ann (Larry) Parker of Columbus, Ga, Anthony Turner of Dayton, OH, and Monica (Louis)Caldwell of Dayton, OH; Devoted Niece and Caregiver, Brittany Welch; Niece: KaBrea Welch of Dayton, OH; Nephews: Ja'Quan and Justin Welch; and a host of cousins and special friends.

Charles loved life and his family. He will forever be remembered for his infectious smile and thoughtfulness without measure. Although his most recent years were plagued with illness and pain, he never complained. He always Thanked God for his family. His love will forever live in our hearts with his special smile.
