Visitation will be Friday, March 8, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held 12 noon Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Words of Wisdom Christian Center. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.

Derrick Glover was born January 16, 1981 in Columbus, Georgia to Naomi Glover and Ernest Smith. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Delillia Glover; grandfather, Moses Perry and step-brother, Michael Smith.  He worked, laughed, loved to play the game, had a deep love for movies and comics, and did not play about his family.  He entered into eternal life on February 27, 2024.

Derrick graduated from Central High School in 1999 and attended Tennessee State University where he played football.  He later returned to Phenix City, Alabama.

Derrick accepted Christ as his Lord and Personal Savior and was a member of Gaines Chapel AME Church.

Derrick leaves many who will forever love, adore, and miss him.  To cherish his memories are a loving and supportive mother, Naomi Glover; father Ernest (Catherine) Smith; son Donte Glover;         step-sister Chandra (Mike) Miles; step-brothers, Jamario Smith, Ernest Smith, Jr., Bobby Cox, Jabez Robinson, and Jordan Robinson; god-father Charles (Mary) Gordon; god-children, Jayden, Jayla, and Janae Harris; special nieces, Kenya Smith, Quenisha Mackey, Princeanna Smith, Mariana "Monk Monk" Davis, and Ja'Kayla Davis; special nephews, Timothy Smith and Kelvin Mackey; four best friends who were like brothers, Greg Harris, Nicky Culbertson, Taron Doleman, and Warren Perdue; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
