Visitation will be Friday, December 2, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral.

Ms. Dorothy Brooks was born to the late George and Bennie Dews on March 5, 1931.  She departed this life on Friday, November 25, 2022 at the age of 91.

She accepted Christ as her Savior in 1992 under the leadership of Reverend John Thomas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sammy Brooks, Jr.; daughter Michelle Miles; son Sammy Brooks, III; granddaughter Stephanie Lewis; grandson Cornelius Buckner and a sister Gerelene Spruell.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory six daughters, Barbara Cowing (Thomas), Betty Mormon, Elizabeth Dixon, Evelyn Sanks, Bonnie Griggs (Sterling), and Dorothy Miles; one son Derek Brooks; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister  Beatrice Thomas; and a host of other relatives and loved ones.
