Dorothy Louise Mosley was born Tommie Lee James August 5, 1935 in Fort Mitchell, Alabama to the late Georgia (Reynolds) James and Ambrose James, Sr.  She accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age.  She was baptized at Greater Peace Baptist Church, Columbus, Georgia, under the pastorate of Reverend O. L. Holston.

Her family relocated to Columbus, Georgia, where she attended Spencer High School.  She excelled in sports and was a Guard for the Girls Basketball Team.  Due to the untimely death of her father, she had to drop out of school and work to help support the family.   However, she never gave up on her goal and desire to complete high school.  Well into her thirties, she attended Meadows College in Columbus and completed High School.  She was an excellent role-model for her children and peers in her belief in the importance of education.  Mother Mosley was first married to John Frazier.  Their union resulted in the birth of her first child Rosa Marie (Frazier) Land.   Due to his untimely demise, she became a young widow.  But not for long!  Her knight in shining armor showed up in the person of Willie Lee Mosley, Jr.  Their union resulted in the birth of her second child Reginald.

Mother Mosley loved children and working with them was her joy.  She spent over 30 years working with the Muscogee County School District.  First, as a cook, then as a School Crossing Guard.  Ultimately, she assisted children with special needs, load/off-load their school bus.  All who know her, knows her passion was working in the LORD's House where she wore many hats.  She was a Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent.  She served with the Mission Ministry and was a Deaconess.  She worked with the Hospitality Team, preparing meals for a multitude of church events.  On her own accord, Mother Mosley personally prepared breakfast for children attending Sunday School.  More recently, she joined in membership with her brother, Elder Jimmy James, at the New Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church, Columbus, Georgia.

In her free time, Mother Mosley loved working in her garden and around her lawn.  An avid walker, Mother Mosley could regularly be seen walking at Lake Bottom Park.  Her favorite past time also included sewing and knitting.  A stronghold in community events, she was a Den Mother for the local Cub Scouts, never missed a year in exercising her right to vote.  Mother Mosley attended the 1982 Superbowl Game of which her favorite nephew played with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Mother Mosley leaves to cherish and continue her legacy her loving son, Reginald Mosley (Sheryl) of Woodbridge, VA; two grandchildren: Regena Jehan Mosley and Julian Dominic Mosley, both of Woodbridge, VA; a brother, Elder Jimmy James (Ann) of Columbus, GA; Sister, Miss Earline James of Valdosta, GA; a Goddaughter, Mrs. Rosalind Fletcher (Alphonso).  She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Those who preceded her in death include her husbands, John and Willie; her daughter, Rosa Marie Land; three sisters: Irena Walker, Accumiller Harper and Mary Elizabeth Carter.
