Obituary

Visitation will be Friday, November 3, 2023 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Eddie Lee Morris, aka "Big Red", was born April 23, 1955 in Russell County, Alabama to the late Johnny Morris Sr. and Mary Agnes Tolliver Morris.  He departed this life on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

Eddie was educated in the Russell County School system where he became fascinated with playing basketball.  He believed in God and knew Jesus as the Savior.   Eddie was very blessed with skillful hands and accomplished alot throughout the course of his life.  He was a family man and joined in matrimony to the late Carrie Ann Cade Morris.  Together, they raised four children.

Eddie worked at Norfolk Southern Railroad until he retired.  He was a business owner of Morris Logging, Morris Grocery Store, and Morris Auto Shop.  He received certifications from Auburn University to excel in his businesses.  During his pastimes, he enjoyed farming, fishing, fixing anything, and family.

Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Ann Cade Morris; four sisters: Mandy Covington, Betty Miles, Rebecca Evans Mary Colvin; two brothers: William Morris and Robert Morris.

Eddie's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit lives on through the countless lives he touched. He is survived by three daughters: Sigdra (Charles) Milton of Troy, AL, Marcia Cade of Phenix City, AL, Debralee Morris of Seale, AL  and one son Anthony Morris of Seale, AL; two sisters: Cascilla Feagins and Deborah (Roger) Hensley both of Seale, AL; a brother, Johnny Morris Jr of Geneva, AL; eight grandchildren: Tyeshia, Jerome, Olivia, Trevonne, Quintin, Amahree,  Tristan, and Antravious; two great-grandchildren, Kylei and Nowel; two sister-in-laws; two brother-in-laws; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
