Edith
Qualles Harris was born July 16, 1963 to the late Pastor Jessie and Annie Bell Lockhart Qualles , Sr. in Pittsview, Alabama.  She left her earthly home and entered her heavenly home on Sunday, September 12, 2021 in Columbus, Georgia.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined New Mt. Canaan Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and was a member of the Youth and Young Adult Choirs.

She was educated in the schools of Russell County was a 1981 graduate of Chavala High School.

Edith joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life Douglas G. Harris and enjoyed thirty-two years of marriage with him.  To this union one daughter Jolitta Lanett Harris was born.

She was preceded in death by four brothers :  Reverend Jessie Quarles, Jr., James Quarles, Matthew Qualles , and Charles W. Quarles; and one sister Mary Qualles Mosely .

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband Mr. Douglas G. Harris; one daughter Jolitta Harris, both of Phenix City, Alabama; two brothers, Farris (Caroline) Quarles of Columbus, Georgia and Ricky Qualles of Pittsview, Alabama; five sisters, Minister Dorthy (Alvin) Black of Mart, Texas; Sallie B. (Charles) Marshall and Rosa Quarles, both of Waco, Texas, Annie M. Hopkins of Sacramento, California and Amy Qualles of Pittsview, Alabama; three brothers-in-law, Mack (Debbie) Harris, M. L. (Angela) Harris, both of Phenix City, Alabama and Danny (Jackie) Harris of Smiths Station, Alabama; nine sisters-in-law, Bessie Johnson, Betty Austin, Dorthy (Cecil) Norwood, all of Atlanta, Georgia, Gloria (Arthur) Richardson, Sylvia (Bobby) Hudson, Jackie (Sgt. Timothy) Carter, and Dorthy Harris, all of Columbus, Georgia, Maggie Harris of Phenix City, Alabama, and Mary C. Quarles of Cottonton , Alabama; one aunt Ceretha Smith of Phenix City, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and loved ones.
