Mrs. Ella Mae Dunham Williams graced this life with her presence on February 3, 1922 in Arlington, Georgia to the late Willie and Mary Nett Dunham. She transitioned from life to life eternal on Thursday, February 11, 2021.
Ella Mae was educated in the schools of Arlington, Georgia and attended Savannah State University in Savannah, Georgia.
Ella Mae owned and operated Ella Mae Williams Beauty Shop for more than fifty years. She was a board member of the Alabama Independent Beauticians and Barbers Association, certified by the Alabama Board of Cosmetology as a Master cosmetologist and was an advisor for the Cosmetology Department at Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama. Ella Mae was a faithful and devoted member of Nichols Chapel AME Church and choir member. She was also as an auxiliary member of the Battle, Juniper, Pearce American Legion Post 331.
Ella Mae was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, mentor and friend who loved spending time with family and traveling to family reunions.
Ella Mae was preceded in death by her husband R B Williams to whom she was married to for seventy-four years; three brothers, John Dunham, Willie Dunham, and Sammie Dunham; and one sister Fannie Dunham.
Ella Mae leaves to cherish her memory a devoted and loving daughter Phyllis (Alphonso) Elliott of Phenix City, Alabama; three grandchildren, Meltresia Brady of Roswell, Georgia, Eliot (Rochelle) Elliott of Moody, Alabama, and Jared (Caiyon) Elliott of Crestview, Florida; seven great-grandchildren, Noah Brady, Cameron Brady, Andretta Elliott, Enoch Elliott, Senna Elliott, Shura Elliott, and Bellum Elliott; a devoted niece Cynthia Bennett; a devoted great-niece Yolanda Rome; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
