Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 5, 2024 in the chapel of Battle & Battle Funeral Home. Visitation will be SUNDAY, November 3, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Ernest Leon Richardson, affectionately known as "Tat," was born on July 20, 1962, in Eufaula, Alabama to the late Walter Lee and Mary Lee Richardson. He passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday morning, October 29, 2024. Ernest attended Rebecca Comer High School, graduating with the class of 1979.

He was an outgoing individual who brought love and laughter to those around him. Ernest worked at Mead Westvaco for over 25 years until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards and picking up his granddaughter from school each day.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary Richardson; four sisters, Shirley Haynes, Janie Streeter, Terri Farmer, and Lillie Hill; and one brother, James Richardson. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Richardson; his daughter, Dominique, whom he affectionately called "My Nikka"; two grandchildren, Alandis Leonard and Ava Bowen; two bonus daughters, Teisha Huff and Tomretta Whatley; five sisters, Mary (Henry) Simpson, Eyvonne (Thomas) Hill, Ethel (Billy) Glover, Joann (Joe) Wofford, and Dorthy Jones; three brothers, Willie Richardson, Edward Richardson, and Eddie (Betina) Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who loved him dearly.
