Obituary

There will be No Public Visitation.

Mrs. Gloria Ann Pitts Nelams was born on April 27, 1960, in Columbus, GA, to Anthie L. Pitts and the late Emma J. Lipscomb Pitts.

At an early age, she confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Weeping Mary Baptist Church, which later was changed to Spread the Word Ministries.

She graduated from Smith Station High School. She worked for thirty-plus years at Hardee's, where she became the General Manager in Phenix City, AL.

She was united in holy matrimony with David Nelams. They had four wonderful children.

She was a wonderful and caring person and always willing to help others. She had a big heart and enjoyed life. Most of all, she loved God and her family. Being around her family helped her to stay strong and motivated her to press on no matter what she was going through.

In 2017, she became a member of Potter's House Baptist Church Sincere Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Roy J. Jones. There she helped with the Food Bank and assisted with the evening meals.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her father, Anthie (Mary) Pitts; four children, Dexter (Stacey), Melissa (David), Temesha, and Deonte'; seven grandchildren, Javontae, Dinar, Cieara, Destiny, Dominique, Makayla, Maliyah; two great-grandchildren; six siblings, Margaret (Larry), Eugene (Veronica), Jeffery, Veronica, Lisa and Ronald (Eusherla); a great Aunt, Gertrude Walker, Brooklyn, NY; special friends, Beverly (Gemond) and Glenda (Kem) a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends.
