Mr. Gregory Benton was born July 2, 1957 to the late Willie Henry and Martha Ann Weldon.  He departed this life on Sunday, May 2, 2021.

He accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of Greater Mount Zion Church.

Greg was a professional fashion designer and worked with the Phenix City School System.  He was the life of the party and everyone who came into contact with him always left with a smile.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an aunt Lady Mae Watley.

Greg leaves to cherish his fond memory one daughter Lieutenant Colonel Tomisha Toson of Killeen, Texas; one grandson Roman Xavier Vinson of Killeen, Texas; two brothers, Donald Ray Benton of Columbus, Georgia and Warrick Henry (Dr. Carla Henry) of Ladonia, Alabama; three sisters, Kim Miles (Stephen) of Phenix City, Alabama, Sheena Rena Folley (Jonnie) of Columbus, Georgia and Sandy Ingram of Jonesboro, Georgia; two devoted nephews, Derrick Echols and Keonte Battle of Phenix City, Alabama; a devoted god-sister Tanza Walton of Columbus, Georgia; a special friend Hilda Govan; a devoted neighbor Patricia Miles, a devoted cousin Earnestine Gordon; and a host of other relatives and loved ones.
