Minister Katherine Mack Seabrook was born August 13, 1962 to Eddie Lou Upshaw Mack and the late Thomas Mack, Sr. in Rutherford, Alabama. She peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Emory-St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.
Katherine accepted Christ at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church in 1979. She went on to do great works for the Lord until her earthly departure.
She attended Russell High School in Hurtsboro, Alabama and then transferred to Cyprus Lake High School in Fort Myers, Florida where she graduated. She continued her education at Southwestern College also in Fort Myers and received her Bachelor's Degree in Communication. She also owned a transportation business taking seniors to various destinations. While in Fort Myers, she worked diligently with the NAACP. She then worked at Fort Myers News Press until she relocated to Alabama.
Katherine ran for governor of Alabama in 2006 making her the 2
nd
African-American to run for this office.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
Katherine leaves to cherish her memory her mother Eddie Lou Upshaw Mack; five sisters, Beatrice (Frank) Hall, Joanne Florence, Lillian Louise Mack, Helen Mack Tucker, and Gale Mack Mark; two brothers, Thomas Mack, Jr. and Cassius (Evelyn) Mack, all of Pittsview, Alabama; one aunt Bessie Mae Upshaw Baker of East Chicago Indiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
