Funeral Services for Mr. Kenneth Lamar Mercer will be held January 24, 2024, 12:00 noon at Phillips Temple CME Church. Visition will be Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Kenneth Lamar Mercer was born January 1st, 1956 in Crawford, Alabama to the late Charles Henry Mercer, Sr. and Ella Lou Myhand. He attended Central High School and joined the US Army as a medical supply. Kenneth was a dedicated employee at Alagasco of Phenix City, AL. Kenneth was a devoted father figure and caregiver for several of his nieces and nephews. He was a continuous source of love and support for his family. Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Charles Henry Mercer, Sr. and mother, Ms. Ella Lou Myhand; brother, Charles Henry Mercer Jr. and one sister, Sherry Lou Ella Perry.
Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Antronette Mercer of Phenix City, AL and Vanelia Delisha Cross of Saint Cloud, MN; one son, Kentrell Mercer of Fort Lauderdale, FL; six grandchildren, Ar'tavious Lyles, Adrion Mercer, King Word, Messiah Vanelia Cross, Malachi Marquintes Cross, and Jayquon Lozano; two great-grandchildren, Katie Rose Lozano and Rashawn Lozano; two brothers, Michael Mercer of Alabama and Ottia L. Lewis, Sr. of Alabama; four sisters, Carolyn Perry of Georgia, Linda Williams of Alabama, Ramona Mercer of Florida, and Pennie M. (Johnny) Smith of Virginia; one uncle, Roger Jones of Alabama; four aunts, Annie Lee Blaylock of North Carolina, Edith (Tyrone) Smith of Georgia who was very valuable and special aunt to him as his best friend, Willie Bell Mercer of Alabama, Laura McKissic of Alabama. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
