Obituary

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, February 23, 2024 in the chapel of Battle & Battle Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Khalil Altonio McCrary was born June 1, 2004, in Columbus, GA to Teirra Walker (husband Charles Dinkins) and Demetrius McCrary (Tanyetta Mullins).

In his early childhood, he played youth football, but it didn't take long to realize sports were not his thing.  He was built to be an entertainer. He was a class clown and kept his teachers and peers laughing. There was no such thing as having a bad day in his presence, he would do anything he could to cheer you up.

During his tenure at Spencer High School, he began working at McDonalds and worked his way into management. Throughout his school he was a member of the band as a bass player, and he also participated in the JROTC program. In good Khalil fashion during his 2022 commencement ceremony, after receiving his diploma he danced his way out of high school into adulthood.

Khalil recently started working as a solar technician in Texas, for Blattner Energy, in which he'd recently received a promotion from yellow hat to orange hat.

Khalil was full of life and had an infectious energy, so much so he never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and truly was loved and adored by all who knew him.

Khalil leaves to cherish in his memory one daughter, Lay'Anne Davis; his parents, Teirra Walker (Charles Dinkins) and Demetrius McCrary (Tanyetta Mullins); grandparents, JoAnne Bowden (Billy Bowden); Raphael Patterson; Patricia McCrary (Curtis King); great grandparents, Vickie King (James Kings)Dorothy Chaney; brothers, Kaylen McCrary, Kaison Walker, Demetris McCrary Jr., Emmanuel Claiborne, Charles Dinkins, Tagerious Mullins, and Eddie Anderson;,Kelsi Walker, Demeiashia Baldwin, Kayla Sanders, Victoria Dinkins; aunts,Victoria Walker, Ebony Williams, Lakesha Caruthers, Lakita Patterson, Nakesha McCrary, and Nakeshia Freeman; uncles,Toney, Jean-Paul Patterson, Terry McCrary, Thalmus McCrary, Savoy Jefferson; two nieces, two nephews and a host of cousins and other loved ones.
