Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM EDT Saturday, May 30, 2026 in the chapel of Battle and Battle Funeral Home. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 29, 2026 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Leon "Lion" McCrary was born in Phenix City, Alabama to Walter McCrary, Sr. and Ella Mae McCrary. God called Leon home to rest in His arms on May 19, 2026.

Leon attended school in Phenix City, Alabama. He had a passion for landscaping by trade. Also he enjoyed blessing his family with his handyman skills.

Leon was a loving brother, uncle, and friend. He was always generous and caring towards everyone. A vacant place is left in the hearts of all those who loved and cherished his memories.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Christine McCrary.

Leon leaves to cherish those memories his siblings, Walter Faye Jones (Hosea), Patricia McCrary (Curtis), Walter McCrary Jr., Cheryl Cartwright (bonus sister); nieces, Lawona McCrary (Anthony), Brandy Jones, Brandisha Jones, Shannon Loyd, Chastity McCrary, Nakesha McCrary (favorite); nephews, Savoy Jefferson (Brenda), Walter McCrary III (Monica), Demetrius McCrary (Tanyetta), Thalmus McCrary, Terry McCrary (Sherry) and a host of other relatives and friends.
