Funeral Services will be held 12:00 noon Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday, September 30, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
"Marci" completed his earthy duties and made his transition into Eternal Life on Monday, September 23, 2024
Marciano "Marci" Jakes was born on August 5, 1953 in Phenix City, Alabama to the late Isaiah and Marilene Jakes. After the death of his parents, he was raised by his grandmother, Alice Sumbry Jakes and aunt, Sarah Crowery. He confessed Christ at an early age and united with Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama.
Marciano graduated from Central High School Class of 1971 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music from Alabama State University. He was known for his gift of singing. While a student at Central High School, he starred in the musical, "Show Boat" at the Springer Opera House in Columbus, GA. He went on to win first place in the WOKS talent show.
Marciano was preceded in death by his parents, Isaiah and Marilene Jakes; brothers, Elijah Jakes and Isaiah Jakes Jr. and sister, Hattie Jakes Castille.
He leaves to cherish his fond an precious memories: his sister, Vernice Kelly; Nephews, Forrest Castille, Elroy Miles, Gerald Jones, Justin Jakes, Markeith Jakes, Dennis Crowell; nieces, Heather Castille, Nikiesha Jakes, Shonna Jones, Sabrina Williams and Terri Jones, aunt, Ophelia Jakes.
