Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM EDT Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday, July 3, 2026 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Deacon Glenn Jelks was born October 20, 1963 in Hatchechubbee, Alabama to the late Sammy and Louise Jelks, whose union was blessed with eight children. He departed this life for his eternal reward on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Glenn confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Hatchechubbee, Alabama, where he served faithfully until God called His angel home. He was the Chairman of the Deacon Board and also the Sunday School Superintendent.
Glenn was educated in the Russell County School System and was a 1982 graduate of Russell High School in Seale, Alabama. He was employed at Walmart Super Center until he retired.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by two brothers, Sammy Jelks and Jimmy Jelks and one sister, Linda Davis.
Glenn leaves to cherish his memory two children, Travis Jelks (LaKeshia) and Jasmine McQueen (Darius), both of Phenix City, Alabama; four grandchildren, Khali Jelks, Serenity Jelks, Alayah McQueen and A’Onei Marshall; three sisters, Catherine Davis, Gloria Mae Jelks and Earnestine Jelks, all of Seale, Alabama; one brother, James Jelks of Hatchechubbee, Alabama; one aunt, Mary Ann Long (Willie) of Hurtsboro, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends.
