Funeral Services will be held 2:30 PM EDT Saturday, June 20, 2026 atColbert AME Church. Burial will follow in church cemetery. There will be no public visitation.

Marie Perry Young graced this life with her presence on December 23, 1948 to Frank and Evanga Willams Perry.

Marie accepted Christ and joined Colbert A.M.E Church in her teen years. She graduated from Oliver High School in 1967.

After high school, Marie moved to Gary, Indiana where she met and was united in Holy Matrimony to McKinley Young. She joined the church with Mac, as he was called, and worked diligently in the church as a greeter for many years. She was employed with Carson Pirie and Scott as a beauty consultant until she became disabled. Marie loved her job and was referred to as the "Glamour Girl" of the family.

Atter becoming disabled Marie decided to return home. She reunited with the Colbert A.M.E Church under the leadership of Pastor Willie Harley.

Marie is truly missed already and will be so until we meet again. There are others who have gone on before her, her parents, Frank and Evanga Perry; and three brothers, Harvey, Frank Jr., and William Perry.

Those left to cherish her memory are Howard Perry, Asierlean Freddie, Mary, Toney, Wardell, and Helen, and a host of other relatives and loved ones.
