Obituary

Visitation will be Monday, January 16, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Warren Steven Stroud, Sr. was born September 11, 1954 to the late Charles Stroud, Sr. and Elizabeth D. Stroud.  He was the youngest of four boys.  He departed his earthly vessel on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.  He was a 1972 graduate of Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama.  He then joined the United States Army where he served for twenty years and retired as a MSG.  After his retirement, he worked for Battle and Battle Funeral Home where he received his funeral license.  He worked there until his health would no longer allow him to do so.
Steve joined in Holy Matrimony with Yvonne Stroud on May 1, 1999.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Wayne Stroud.
Steve leaves to cherish his memory his wife Yvonne Stroud; his kids because he didn't believe in "step kids" Torondo (Thaddeus) Westchester, OH, Ida (Trent) Miles, Adrienne Stroud, Lakeisha Henry, Shalanda (Khalil) Ryles, Marcus Holloway, Anthony       Holloway, all of Phenix City, AL, Jessica Stroud of Columbus, GA, Warren "Jr." Stroud of Anniston, AL; his brothers, Charles (Eddie Lou) Stroud of Ann Arbor, MI, William (Hattie Bea) Stroud of Virginia Beach, VA; father-in-law James Thompson, Sr. of Phenix City, AL; his sisters-in-law Lysharn (Johnny) Davis of Phenix City, AL, Dorothy (Alfonza) Barnes, and Earnestine (Derek) Hookfin, both of Columbus, GA; brothers-in-law Kenneth Thompson (his caregiver) and Curtis (Sandra) Kimber, both of Phenix City, AL; a blessing of two additional sons, Dante (Latisha) Henry of Florida and Demarcus (Alora) Henry of Haymarket VA; twenty-seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
