Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am EDT Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church #3, Hurtsboro, AL. Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.

Loretta Franklin was born May 3,1960, in Hammond, Indiana to the union of the late Reverend Jimmie Franklin, Sr. and Icea Mae Franklin-Brown.

Loretta has spread her wings and joined her loving Father, Reverend Jimmie Franklin Sr., Mother, Icea Mae Franklin-Brown, Brothers, Anthony Franklin, Jimmie Franklin, Jr., Eric "Ricky" Franklin, Arthur Lee "Shine" Franklin, and a niece, Kelly Franklin. Loretta spread her wings on August 23, 2025, and joined her loving family.

Loretta graduated from East Chicago Roosevelt, Class of 1978. Loretta loved the Lord and was a member of New Community Baptist Church in Hammond, Indiana. Her favorite Bible scriptures were Psalms 91 and Proverbs 3:5. Loretta was a Breast Cancer Survivor. She truly enjoyed baking, crafting, taking road trips with her family, and shopping with her baby sisters Janice and Joy.

Loretta leaves to cherish her two daughters, Sharissa (Shamus) Thompson of Smithfield, North Carolina, Shanice Franklin of Indianapolis, Indiana and One Granddaughter, Shantanece Ellis of Norcross, Georgia. Three brothers William Franklin, Edward Franklin, and Reverend Damon (Shavaun) Franklin of Phenix City, Alabama; four sisters: Georgia Ann Gibson of Simpsonville, South Carolina; Annetta Franklin, Janice Franklin, and Joy Franklin - Phenix City, Alabama. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
