Obituary

Visitation will be Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Phyllis Arlene Howard Allen graced this life with her presence on May 20, 1956 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Homer Howard and Leila Hurt Howard in Columbus, Georgia.  She departed this life on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.
She accepted Christ and was a member of Franchise Missionary Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama.  She was  a 1974 graduate of Central High School where she was crowned the 1st African-American Homecoming Queen.  She continued her education at Meadows College where she pursued bookkeeping skills.  She later worked at Macy's and loved to shop.  Phyllis was fun-loving, full of life and enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Roderick "Rod" Howard.
Phyllis leaves to cherish her memory her husband James L. Allen, three children, LaTisa Ogletree, Kia Ogletree and Joseph "Jo-Jo" Ogletree (Kristin); five grandchildren,  Deja, Alayshea, Justin, JaQuan and Ivy; one brother Stanley Howard (Ida), four sisters, Cynthia Howard, Duane Howard, Regina Howard, and Kandee Howard; two aunts, Margaret Morten, Julia Robinson (Charlie) and Alice "Muttie" Patterson; two brothers-in-law, Johnny Giles (Lovella) and Arnell Allen (Ronda); three sisters-in-law, Rosie Miles, Lorene Williams (Larry), and Linda Welch; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
