A Memorial Services will be held 1:00 pm Sunday, January 26, 2025 in the chapel of Battle & Battle Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rethel Lipscomb Maddox was born on June 18, 1959 in Phenix City, AL to the belated Mr. John L. Lipscomb, Sr. and the belated Mrs. Sarah Jean Vanburen Lipscomb. Preceding in her death, her husband, Jerry Lee Maddox, Sr. and her dear sister, Mrs. Geraldine Lipscomb Perryman.

Mrs. Rethel Lipscomb Maddox attended Central High School (Class of 1977) in Phenix City, Alabama. She worked in retail management most of her career. She was mostly remembered for her years of employment at the former Seale Road Bay Station in Phenix City, Alabama. Rethel Maddox resided most of her life in Phenix City, AL but eventually settled with her husband Jerry Lee Maddox, Sr. in Midland, Georgia.

Mrs. Rethel Lipscomb Maddox transitioned from this life on January 11, 2025 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Facility in Columbus, GA, where she acclimated well during her last two years of life. She was known for her vibrant personality, her generosity and most of all her love for cooking. She truly had a love for people and never ever met a stranger and will always be affectionately remembered as "The Legend".

Mrs. Rethel Lipscomb Maddox leaves to cherish two daughters, Nikkita Tara Lipscomb, Atlanta, GA and Keaira Kanee Lipscomb, Midland, GA; two grandchildren, Tylor Maurice Anderson, Atlanta GA, Collin Omari Anderson, Marietta, GA; one sister, Pamela (James) Cousins, Phenix City, AL; four brothers, John Lorand Lipscomb, Jr., Phenix City, AL, Donell Lipscomb, Phenix City, AL, Darwin (Bridgette) Lipscomb, Seale, AL, and Christopher Sharp, Sr. of Phenix City, AL; one aunt, Diane Lipscomb, Columbus, GA; two honorary daughters, her nieces- Kuwanna Socorro Lipscomb, Charlotte, NC and Medesia Morrell Negron, Indian Land, SC; (19) Nieces and Nephews; Lorand Sedrjo Lipscomb, Chiara Lipscomb and Talia Lipscomb of Stuttgart Germany; Trinandez Lipscomb and Triandos Lipscomb both of Phenix City, AL; Colethia Fearson, Smith Station, AL; Darwin Fearson and Kevin Fearson of Hatchechubee, AL; Jafon Fearson, Phenix City, AL; Courtney Upchurch, Seale, AL; Mikayla Lipscomb and Kimmyah Lipscomb both Seale, AL; Janette Cousins, Columbus, GA; Michelle (John) England, Houston,TX; Christopher Sharp, Jr., Jabria Daive, Kyon Sharp, Kyla Sharp and Keon Sharp, all of Phenix City, AL; and host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
