Obituary

Mr. Ronnie Jackson, Sr. was born March 27, 1958 in Phenix City, Alabama to the late Roosevelt and Estella Turpin.  He departed this life on February 2, 2021 with family and loved ones by his side as he transitioned from life to eternal life.

Ronnie accepted Christ at a young age at Franchise Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Raymond Cochran.  He was presently a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church under Reverend Johnny Flakes, III.

He graduated from Central High School in 1976 and from CVCC with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and afterwards he enrolled at Troy State University and earneda Master's Degree in Psychology-Social Work.  He joined the United States Military and served in the Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller.  After receiving an honorable discharge, he was employed at GNBC for twenty years until his retirement.

In Ronnie's pastime, he enjoyed watching the University of Alabama football team "Roll Tide", fishing with his friend Mr. O., watching old Westerns and listening to good old Funk music from the Bar-Kays, Grand Funk Railroad and the SOS Band.  He will be remembered for his famous Chuck Taylor-Converses that he loved and wore for decades.  He was a master storyteller and comedian; he could always make you laugh with a good story.  His laughter, smile and generosity will be missed by all, but never forgotten.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death a year ago by his son Ronnie Jackson, Jr.

Ronnie leaves to cherish his memory his wife of twenty-eight years Mrs. Denine Jackson; a daughter Latoya Jackson; seven grandchildren, Ja'Ron Markel Jackson, Ryleigh Janae Jackson, Beautii Marie Davis, Kimoni D.
