Our beloved Shannon Henry Mitchell passed away on 14 May 2024, at the age of 84 at St. Francis-Emory Hospital in Columbus, GA. Shannon was born on 24 April 1940 in the "Pluck-Hole" of Fortson, GA. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1959. Shannon has done many great things in his 84 years of life; such as, enlisting into the U.S Army in 1960 as a light weaponry infantryman, and ended his service in 1962. Then, he received an Automotive Mechanics Degree from Columbus Technical College in May 1965.

In 1966, he began to work at Sears Roebuck and Company as an Auto-Mechanic for over 23 years. Shannon received several awards for his hard work, dedication, and performing above and beyond his peers. After retiring from Sears, Shannon began working at the Muscogee County School District (MCSD) and retired in 2013.

Shannon learned to play piano early on in his life. He learned from a respected blind man by the name of Emory Jones at the age of 9 years old, and had been playing piano ever since then. Shannon's faith and love for God has shown in more ways than one.
