Ms. Sonya Denise Rivers was born September 5, 1974 in Phenix City, Alabama to Betty Marie Rivers and the late Williams Rivers, Sr.  She departed this life on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

She accepted Christ and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She was a member of the class of 1994 at Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama.  Sonya loved church, taking pictures, and being cute.  She loved her family and spending time with them and especially her great nephew Kiron.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Ann Weaver and Christine Rivers.

Sonya leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Santeria Rivers, Kourtney Rivers and Brittney Rivers; her mother Betty Rivers; two sisters, Princess Weaver and Shirley Rivers (Willie); one brother William Rivers (Nadia); two nieces, Lakeisha Rivers and Kamesha Rivers; six nephews, Tommy Weaver, Antonio Weaver, James Weaver, Lavante Rivers, Keyaundre Rivers, Lamarcus Rivers; three aunts, Lillie Mae Sims (Allen, Jr.), Peggy Ann James, and Sallie Weaver; one uncle Joe Mack; and a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews and other loved ones.
