Mr. Sterling B. Hicks, Sr. was born on August 1, 1950 in Eufaula, Alabama to the late Will Hicks and Cardie B. Hicks. He departed this life on Saturday, May 8, 2021.

He attended Phenix City Public Schools, South Girard High School and took classes at Chattahoochee Valley Community College.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his sister Isabella Crawford and brothers, Harry Truman Hicks and Jonah Hicks.

He is survived by his three sons, Derrick (LaToya) Watts, Sterling B. (Tamara) Hicks, Jr. and Kevin Hicks; eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Willie B. (James) Maddox, Eloise H. Brown, Shirley Mae Hicks and Lisa Hicks; two brothers, Edward Charles Hicks and Curtis Hicks; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
