With deep love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Viola Johnson Butler, who peacefully transitioned on August 13, 2025, at the age of 84.

Born on June 18, 1941 and raised in Phenix City, Alabama to the late Savannah Johnson and James Johnson, Viola lived a life marked by faith, resilience and unconditional love. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who poured kindness into everyone she met.

Viola's legacy is carried on by her beloved children: Anthony Butler, Kimberly Butler, Tiffany Johnson-Moffett and her son-in-law William Moffett. She was blessed with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored her deeply and will continue to honor her through the lessons and love she imparted.

She is also survived by her siblings, Jessie Pitts and Joshua Johnson and she now joins in eternal rest her five siblings, her mother, and father.

Her warmth, generosity, and wisdom will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.  Viola Johnson Butler's life was a testament to strength and compassion. Her love will remain a guiding light for her family and all whose lives she graced, and she will surely be missed.
